The study desks upstairs by the windows and along the wall are very cold. For some reason cold air is blowing from the air conditioning no matter what the temperature is.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have forwarded your comment to the person who looks after building-related problems in the library. Dianne
Yeah, douglas student, it is a bother, but it's not actually supposed to work that way. The Library's getting new computers next week (well, they're not really new, but rather an upgrade to what we now have) and hopefully this problem will disappear. We'll be keeping an eye on this.
I just wanted to send a sincere thank you to the library. Today I came in and there was a librarian who was extremely helpful, friendly and approachable. This particular person spent a lot of time familarizing me with the library and how I might better become accustomed to utilizing all the services. This is the second time I have come to the library and have been treated in such a professional manner. Thank you for all your efforts. You are such a vital resource to all students!!!
We're glad you had such a positive experience in the Library today. You may not have realized it, but you were actually taking part in a service called PaperWERKS, where the Library and Learning Centre provide help to students in a single location. This is the first semester PaperWERKS has been offered at the David Lam campus, and it's good to know it's working! Please drop by again, when you have a question or need some help.
I have tried to borrow this textbook for reference since the first day school started (Sept 8), but a student has already checked out this textbook. Hoping that this student would return the book on its due date, unfortunately has not returned the textbook which was due on sept 11th. Therefore, to maintain fairness with these valueable library resourses, I believe students should not be able to borrow textbook, rather than put ALL textbook for ALL valid courses under reserve so ALL students get the equal opportunity of having this resources. Today is Nov 3, 2009 and this book is overdue for 2 months, i understand that its beneficial for the student that borrowed this book cause the library can only fine the student maximum $20 for overdues, so its a lot cheaper for this student to pay the library $20 rather than paying $100 for this textbook. I have brought this attention to a librarian, and she told me discreetly that there is nothing she can do until the student returns the textbook..... Again, to perserve fairness i believe textbooks should be placed under the reserve recourses

it could be great if the computers could stop asking for username and password every 5 minutes...at times it can really get irritating...
